Your responsibilities
Strategic control and permanent optimization of the assigned purchasing categories
Coordination of activities related to material flow management, recycling, and waste initiatives in collaboration with the Labeling & Artwork team
Optimization of the existing product range according to quality, sustainability, and economic aspects
Development, optimization, and implementation of packaging solutions for the entire department taking into account legal and internal requirements and involving the relevant departments
Researching and evaluating current trends in packaging materials, designs, areas of application, new technologies, and sustainability
Observation and analysis of the procurement market, recognition of trends and innovations in the suppliers' environment
Support of Own Brands Food direct suppliers to access sustainable packaging materials cost-efficiently through engagement with recyclers and external partners along the packaging value chain
Analysis of and technical support for international regulatory developments for recycling and waste disposal
Creation of business case analyses, concept papers, and reports
Project work on the introduction or optimization of packaging materials; competent contact person for our suppliers and brand management
Our requirements
Degree in packaging technology or packaging materials
At least three years of professional experience with corresponding project implementation skills
In-depth knowledge of the life cycle of packaging materials (production, processing, application as well as recycling) incl. printing / Multiple years of in-depth work experience in retail, recycling, plastic conversion, chemicals, packaging manufacturing or consumer product industry (e.g., food & beverage, household or personal care)
Solution-oriented and economic way of thinking as well as quality awareness
Contract negotiation skills and experience
Willingness to travel
Confident knowledge of English

Job Description
We are looking for an exceptional Senior Packaging Specialist who will be responsible for the continuous optimization of packaging, taking economic aspects as well as e-commerce conditions into account. Being a part of a very strategic area of the business - the Own Brands Food team, you will be one of the main drivers of developing and continuously improving the packaging material strategy, thus, reducing the costs and having a great impact on zooplus' success.
