    Senior Production Support Specialist - FCTM

    Financial Crime Threat Management (FCTM) is part of the Global Standards & Compliance, and aims to detect and prevent illicit actors' access to the global financial system through constant vigilance. It aims to provide predictive and timely intelligence to inform business and improve our knowledge of customers. Its end-state vision includes a cutting-edge Big Data technologies and analytics platform supporting a global network of operations teams. Production Support team will ensure its 30+ IT Systems remain available, reliable and secure, and will be an integral part of a global Application Production Services Team, supporting business users spread across the globe. The global team runs in the follow-the-sun support model to provide first-class application support services to our worldwide business users while maintaining work-life balance for the team members.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Provide full scope of Level 1 and 2 Production Support service including resolution of live incidents as well as post-resolution problem management activities (Incident Management, Service Improvement Plans),
    • Provide technical expertise in finding root cause of major system problems,
    • Oversee the resolution of problems and incidents of varying complexity to enable the operation to continue to run and deliver service effectively by eradicating recurrences with the minimum disruption to the business, (Problem Management)
    • Detect, analyze and resolve problems associated with servers, networks and applications,
    • Implementation of local developed solutions (i.e. Shell Scripting, DB procedures, etc…),
    • Support of the various testing activities related to the new implementations (Change Management).

     Leadership & Teamwork

    • Advise business staff or unit of technology uses to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Provide technical analysis and solutions to business issues, provides consultation, researches and implements technical alternatives, and maintains awareness of business technology strategies and the technical infrastructure to meet business requirements,
    • Seek technical and professional information and processes regarding area of responsibility to enhance department knowledge base,
    • Assist and support local manager with administrative tasks and meetings, aiming to ensure process are being followed according to HSBC standards and local procedures to achieve the current high standards of the local/global team.

    Requirements:

    • Degree in Technology or equivalent commercial experience of more than 3 years,
    • SQL knowledge (DML/DDL),
    • Knowledge of UNIX and shell scripting,
    • Knowledge of batch processing and automation (preferably Control – M),
    • Basic Knowledge of IBM WebSphere,
    • Knowledge of related technologies will be considered a plus: Big Data, SAS, Cloud Computing,
    • Strong experience in supporting complex and integrated application environments,
    • Experience with system implementations and organizational processes (ITIL Framework),
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills,
    • Good problem solving and analytical skills,
    • Ability to work under time pressure, and to multitask,
    • English proficiency to maintain write and speak communication with other IT resources around the globe and business users,
    • Availability to work on rregular work shifts (Between 8:00h and 18:00h),
    • Availability to cover weekend`s and holiday`s according to scale (1 Weekend + 1 Holiday every 3 Months).
