Your responsibilities
Supporting Clean Air sites across Europe with the management and delivery of their projects to ensure accurate reporting and interpretation of the capital framework.
Drive agendas and progressively support in preparation for sub-sector and sector Capex Portfolio board meetings.
Project Management/Project Engineering on capital projects across the Clean Air sector, defining scope, costs, organisation and objectives, and stakeholder management.
Monitoring spend and engineering progress against project budget and schedule for assigned engineering projects.
Ensuring reporting is being done in a timely manner by the sites and checking for quality and accuracy.
Identification of risks/issues which may affect schedule, budget or quality.
Preparing and delivering compelling and robust reports/presentations to various levels of management.
Implementation of project management tools and techniques to ensure continuous improvement is achieved within the Operational Excellence team.
Analysis of KPI’s across the sector Capital Projects portfolio.
Our requirements
A degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering, and significant experience working within an oil and gas, chemicals or process manufacturing environment.
Membership of a recognised and accredited engineering or project management institution.
Demonstrated experience in project management, project engineering, project controls or engineering management within a capital projects environment.
Knowledge of financial reporting flows is desirable.
Demonstrated an ability to apply creativity and problem solving in process execution and engineering.
Experience in managing a change management process/way of working and understanding the impact on the wider business.
Demonstrable examples of a stringent attitude to working safely in design and operation.
Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and competing demands.

Johnson Matthey Clean Air currently have an opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our sector portfolio management team which is led by the Head of Capital Projects.
Job Description
Reporting directly to the Head of Capital Projects you will contribute to the delivery of the European portfolio of projects, informing economic and technical performance improvements in a Project Management support role. You will also support the sector team in effective capital governance which will include front end project management, governance, monitoring and control of a portfolio of projects as well as rolling out new initiatives and supporting the new Target Operating Model.
The portfolio of Capital Projects under each sector is managed by the Sector Portfolio Management Team (led by the Head of Capital Projects) with each site having a team to manage the execution of capital projects.
The Sector Portfolio Management Team is a central team that is accountable for overseeing all capital spend within the sector and driving best in class approach to delivering Capital Projects within their sector.
Ideally we are looking for the successful candidate to be located within the UK, Macedonia, Poland or Germany.
