Your responsibilities
Global Transformation Senior Project Managers plan, mobilise and lead projects of high complexity and scale from project definition to closure following Global Business Transformation Framework. They are responsible for the end to end delivery of one or more projects proactively balancing scope, schedule, budget, risks, team, outcomes and benefits. They work closely with the Programme Manager/Director to ensure alignment of their project with the wider change portfolio and the Group Strategy, Values and Behaviors. Alongside project delivery responsibilities, the Senior Project Manager may have a line responsibility for a pool of resources (performance/resource management and professional development)
Plans effectively around delivery constraints and optimizes the plan to maximize benefits and minimize risk. Ensures the baselined scope, requirements, benefits, schedule and budget are managed as outlined in Business Transformation Frameworks
Collaborates and builds positive stakeholder relationships providing regular updates, obtains buy-in from the project sponsor, Steering Committee and other stakeholders for all key project plans, commitments, and changes
Analyses management reports, and derives insights from it to drive the right business decisions
Manages Change Adoption to ensure the change lands well and sticks, contributing to benefits realization
Provides timely reports on project status, risks and issues, evaluating project performance based on management information using standardized metrics and templates in Clarity
Maintains project change control, ensuring any changes to baseline are managed through change request and all impacts are considered
Promotes and takes accountability for project quality; identifies opportunities to improve delivery and oversees the governance process to reduce risk and ensure effective and timely decisions are taken
Manages responsibilities, objectives and task allocations for large project or programme to ensure the individuals are being used in accordance with their skills
Acts as a role model to create and maintain a collaborative team environment which supports and encourages the professionalism and development of our teams
Our requirements
Knowledge
Strong understanding of the project lifecycle
Waterfal and Agile / scrum methodologies of project delivery
Knowledge of project management tools such as Clarity/ JIRA/ MS Project and MS Office
Change Adoption and benefits realisation activities
Understanding of banking industry/ HSBC or shared services organizations and how changes drive benefits for its customers and stakeholders
Domain knowledge on any of the following: Retail Banking, Commercial Banking, Operations, Procurement, Risk, Compliance, Payments & understanding of the purpose, value, culture and fundamentals of Global Transformation
Strong knowledge of Business Transformation Frameworks, methodologies and best practice techniques
Project management certifications (PMP, MSP, Prince 2 or Agile PM) are preferred
Lean Six Sigma Yellow / Green Belt - Advantage
Experience with transformation changes in consulting capacity - Advantage
Experience
Extensive experience in leading large and complex programmes / projects with different scope across countries or regions
Consistent stakeholder management experience, especially impactful communication, influencing and running project governance Implementation, change management and benefits realisation
Strong organisational skills and ability to pick up work right away in any phase
Experience in agile ways of working and flexible approach to work and an outstanding level of professionalism and conduct
Ability to motivate and lead people, employing appropriate management styles
Consistent experience in senior stakeholder management - ability to interact with confidence and influence stakeholders at executive level
Ability to work in non-structure environment and bring structure to it
Ability to shape and structure complex problems and direct others, ability to take an end to end view and consider customer/business impacts wthin and outside the project
Ability to provide and put forward alternative solutions and also take decisions based on the information available
Self-driven approach and able to coordinate cross functional teams remotely
Problem solving ability with adherence to deadlines and tight timeliness
Extensive experience in project tracking (setting up project plan, managing risk and issue log, reporting and governance)
Ability to use Design Thinking approach framework
Solid experience in Change Adoption processes, plan and implement change interventions to enable smooth transition to Business as usual, from requirements gathering, communications till end user training.
