For our client an American company dealing with oil, chemical, energy, fertilizers, foodstuffs, among others, we are looking for candidates to join the financial department.
The scope of responsibilities will be tailored to your competencies and seniority.
Your responsibilities
- Being part of the senior financial team which delivers consolidated accounts of the group – work on implementation and set up of the process on European level
- Cooperating with external financial auditors during the audit of consolidated accounts
- Enhancing knowledge on accounting matters and principles under local GAAPs
- Interpreting local accounting rules in order to identify differences and properly issue accounting guidelines
- Providing ideas/solutions on how to set particular areas of the consolidation process
- Liaising with local reporting entities to ensure data from local levels are gathered in a timely manner to meet the consolidation deadline
- Preparing eliminations and necessary consolidation adjustments, as well as reviewing consolidation packages prepared by local teams
- Working closely with all members of finance teams to ensure information, reporting and procedures remain entirely clear and consistent across the group to finalize the consolidated accounts
Employer requirements
- Accounting/finance educational background
- Experience on the position of Chief Accountant or Senior Accountant or Audit Specialist or Reporting Specialist
- Nice to have experience in preparation of financial statements
- Ability to interpret local accounting rules, additional asset would be knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP
- Eagerness to develop knowledge in the area of consolidation (company will provide the training)
- Good knowledge of Excel
- Fluency in English (other European languages would be an asset)
- Solid analytical and planning skills
- Strong technical knowledge and an understanding of group structures
