Your responsibilities
Conduct and publish research and analysis on specific fund-related topics, this includes written and video-recorded segments.
Prepare regular reports on the fund industry as well as broader macroeconomic factors affecting the markets.
Identify trends and opportunities that add customer value, this includes developing methodologies, calculations, testing and benchmarking procedures in the fund business.
Work with sales, product, and business development managers to enhance the market value of current offerings by researching and advising efforts to develop and implement value-added services.
Supply to new sales through conducting product demonstrations and marketing events.
Support and build strong relationships with clients by attending client meetings and responding to queries regarding, market, content, analytics, reports, and Lipper methodology.
Extend company brand within the investment community through public speaking, by representing the company to the media, and writing and publishing industry-specific research.
Attend to ad hoc research requests from internal and external sources.
Our requirements
Thorough understanding of the mutual funds business, including portfolio construction, pooled investment analytics, fees and expenses, distribution channels, and major trends.
Strong analytical and reasoning ability to deliver on sophisticated assignments.
Excellent communication and presentation skills experience is required for delivery of client presentations and workshops.
Strong written communications and/or editing experience would be beneficial, with a focus on grammar and style.
Proactive behavior proven through a track record of initiative, leadership, or responsibility.
Maturity to cope in inter-organizational environments and to handle external relationships.
Willingness to learn new skills, especially with regard to writing program codes in VBA, R, or Python.
Familiarity with Lipper classifications and fund screening tools, such as Lipper for Investment Management is an additional asset.
Basic SQL queries and database manipulation would be helpful.
A background in video production, editing, and blogging is desirable.

Senior Research Analyst – Lipper Investment Funds
Lipper Senior Research Analyst coordinates multiple activities to improve our products and services within the fund business.
Internally, you'll work with various departments to grow new insights and expand the scope of existing products. Externally, you'll build the company brand by maintaining positive relationships with clients while also focusing on growing new relationships.
The position requires a strong background in both equity and fixed income markets. The research analyst functions as an educational link between our front-line staff, the sales and support teams, and product and content teams.
