Senior Specialist, Governance

 

The Role Responsibilities:

The purpose of the role is to support Conduct, Financial Crime and Compliance Governance team in Secondary Secretariat functions for all the CFCC and Risk committees Additionally, in scope of the team remain operational tasks i.e. related to Internal Audit issues oversight.

  • Collect and analyse information to develop the CFCC Governance Report for publication on the CFCC Governance Bridge site, consumption by CFCC MT, and for reporting to senior committees.
  • Work closely with Primary Secretariat in providing governance and oversight of committee administration activities.
  • Handle papers that contain confidential information with responsibility and good ethics to ensure compliance with Committee Governance Standards as well as Group Information and Cyber Security Standards.
  • Exercise good conduct and adhere to Group Records Management Policy for retention and storage requirements related to committee papers.
  • Perform audit reporting activities: manage Audit Report Library on SharePoint, respond to audit-related queries from stakeholders and track the closure of audit issues.
  • Support the alignment of relevant systems and controls to industry best practice and close out any compliance gaps.
  • Periodic reporting and timely escalation of significant risks and issues arising from GIA activities.
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University graduate
  • Fluent English, both in reading and writing.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Governance or equivalent role, like personal assistant/team assistant
  • Excellent communication skills, including proven experience in dealing with senior stakeholders
  • Experience in preparing documents like meeting minutes, committee papers and presentations in unified format required by the regulators
