About the project

Digital Business Automation (DigiBA) are a global function with over 250 staff in 12 countries. We are responsible for defining and implementing the strategy for a number of critical products across the organization, as well as ensuring their availability, recoverability and security.

We’re currently looking for Specialists with an expertise in Mainframe and zOS especially in the field of zOS Automation.

Your responsibilities

  • Administer and support the mainframe automation OPS/MVS product

  • Deliver automation at the quality and pace warranted by the business.

  • Ensuring delivery to the customer while adhering to established global standards and best practice

  • Maintain and exceed existing SLA’s and ensure compliance to HSBC policies at all times

  • Actively participate in achieving organizational efficiency objectives and undertake analysis on day-to-day work to drive automation on deliveries thereby minimizing repetitive and standardized tasks/processes

  • Work closely with the stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver solution as agreed

  • Work on incidents & issues to ensure completion within agreed deadlines

  • Expect to provide the 24*7 On-call support after agreed period of time working on the product

Our requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written English skills

  • Min. 2 years of experience of IBM mainframe systems

  • Knowledge of TSO or JCL or REXX programming or CICS

  • Experience of providing production support / troubleshooting for IBM mainframe systems

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision

  • On call availability

Optional

  • Experience in an automation environment coupled with a knowledge of Ops/MVS or similar mainframe automation product

  • Ability to code / script using REXX (Restructured Extended Executor) programming language.

  • Knowledge of automation techniques

  • Knowledge of Change management processes

  • Excellent problem determination skills

  • Experience of Agile methodologies – Scrum, Kanban, Lean UX

  • Experience of working with Scheduling Tools eg. Tivoli / IBM Workload Scheduler (TWS / IWS)
