Your responsibilities
- Assisting with transition of outsourced VAT preparation to in-house, for selected jurisdictions
- Preparation of VAT returns for select group companies, primarily based in the European Union, as well as associated reports (such as Intrastat)
- Liaising with external service providers to provide source detail for VAT, GST and other indirect tax return preparation
- Reconciling the indirect tax accounts
- Supporting the VAT manager and head of tax in providing advice on VAT and other indirect tax and withholding tax issues
- Supporting the VAT manager and head of tax in dealing with VAT audits and inquiries
- Providing occasional secondary support with direct tax compliance matters
Our requirements
- Bachelor or Master’s in Finance, Accounting or Law,
- 2 – 4 years of professional experience in preparation and submission of VAT (or similar indirect tax returns for different countries,
- Solid and broad tax technical knowledge and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-Tax and non-Finance colleagues
- Good working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel,
- Very good English (both written and spoken),
- Analytical and problem solving skills, strong communication skills,
- Effective influencing & stakeholder management

Job Purpose
We are currently recruiting a Senior VAT Analyst for the Stats Perform group of companies, based in the Katowice, Poland finance shared service centre. The role would commence with remote working during the Covid pandemic, with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement post-Covid pandemic.
WHAT’S YOUR NEW ROLE ABOUT?
The role will report into the VAT Manager, who will also be based in Katowice. The role will cover the indirect tax affairs for more than 50 entities in over 30 countries. You will be part of a four-person tax team (two are based in London), with a high amount of interaction with the Katowice shared services centre as well as finance team members in the UK as well as the wider group.
This role will encompass supporting the outsourced indirect tax compliance preparation process as well as the transitioning the VAT return preparation to the in-house shared service centre for select jurisdictions. Though the role will be primarily focused on European VAT, there will also be some involvement with U.S. state sales taxes and other indirect taxes worldwide, such as GST and occasionally customs, as well as corporate withholding taxes.
