Your responsibilities

  • Global responsibility for the operations and further development of infrastructure services defined for the tower Compute and Store

  • Global standardization of infrastructure and services for service tower Compute and Store

  • Global contact person, escalation authority and coordinator for the business-critical services for the customer and Business relationship management

  • Accountable for all aspects of architecture, engineering, development, testing, deployment and delivery following global IT standards and guidelines defined by Enterprise Architecture Management

  • Accountable for all IT operations activities within the respective Service Tower

  • Responsible for financial planning and management of the tower related Services

  • Responsible to global IT management for the specific services performance (incl. but not exclusively technical, organizational, financial)

  • Responsible for standardization across all regions and businesses for the Services which has been defined by Enterprise Architecture Management

  • Accountable for the effectiveness and efficiency of the specific services on global scale

  • Accountable to ensure the operational performance of the tower services

  • Accountable for the capacity planning of personnel deployment necessary for the provision of services

  • Responsible for review of service quality within the framework of the agreed service level agreements or KPIs which are defined by Business Relationship Management and Enterprise Architecture Management

  • Accountable for the continuous optimization of service quality within the tower and tower-wide activities and definition and implementation of appropriate measures

  • Responsible for compliance with service management in responsibility (based on MAHLE standards / ITIL)

  • Responsible for proactive, independent, regular review of service contracts and services for effectiveness, efficiency and costs of the operational systems and applications

  • Accountability for the successful implementation of necessary cost adjustment measures

Our requirements

  • Academic background: Computer Science or similar studies

  • Min. 8 years of IT experience including +3 years of leading position in IT delivery organization

  • Minimum certification for ITIL Foundation, ideally ITIL intermediate certification achieved

  • Good knowledge of project management

  • Good knowledge of service controlling and financial management for services

  • Knowledge and excellent understanding of infrastructure technology for responsible service area:

  • Compute (HP, Dell, Fujitsu)

  • Storage (NetApp, Infinidat, Brocade)

  • Operation Systems (Windows, Linux)

  • Backend Services (Active Directory, PKI)

  • Virtualization (e.g. VMware vSphere, vSAN)

  • Containerization (e.g. VMware Tansu, Kubernetes)

  • IT Automation & Orchestration (Ansible, Terraform)

  • IT Configuration Management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet)

  • Backup (Veeam, TSM)

  • Hybrid Cloud Architecture (AWS, Azure)

  • Deep understanding of Service Quality and Performance

  • Efficient management of dynamic workloads

  • Good knowledge of DC technologies and operations

  • Leadership experiences (especially leading global service teams), leading by example, staff motivation

  • Excellent management – professionally and technically - of teams in critical situations (e. g. Major Incidents, outages)

  • Intercultural expert / experiences / Team player

  • Must work well under pressure / excellent time Management / conflict Management

  • Performance Management (target oriented)

  • Excellent English communication skills
