Site Reliability Engineer
(Wealth & Personal Banking IT)

Sub-Department: Global Private Bank IT

Role purpose: To work with development and support teams and assure the best resilience and reliability practices are applied when the code is deployed to production sites. Proactively look for weak points (like SPOFs) and areas of improvements. Take ownership of incidents, RCAs and blameless post-mortems.

Must have skills/experience:

Experience:

  • Experience deploying to and supporting production services
  • Excellent understanding of end to end release lifecycle – from requirements, through discovery, sizing, development, testing and deployment
  • Be the part of SREs network, embedded in all teams and jointly working as focal points for entire service. Own the feedback from production support teams back to design and development, make sure that programmatic issues are identified and mitigated in a timely manner. Actively take part in issue resolution.
  • Familiar with various aspects of release management: NFRs, SCF controls
  • Proficiency in JIRA (including service desk) and Confluence
  • Understanding of ITSM coupled with expertise in service/incident management tools (preferably CA Service Manager but other tools like Remedy or ZenDesk fine too)
  • Familiar with access management and control: Centrify and elevated access through TPAM
  • Experience with working with all support levels and familiar with incident escalation path
  • Possessing holistic view on service, interested in end to end approach rather than concentrating on individual components
  • Familiar with Service Level Indicators and Service Level Objectives
  • Work and complement with DevOps discipline in order to create the most resilient and reliable deployments
  • Proactively analyse service, find possible bottlenecks or SPOFs, propose resolutions and take part in their implementations
  • Experience with execution of Root Cause Analysis and familiar with a concept of blameless post-mortems

Skills:

  • Orchestration/deployment: Jenkins, Ansible
  • IaaS: Terraform, Helm
  • Source code versioning; GIT
  • Cloud: AWS
  • Containers: Docker and Kubernetes (including EKS)
  • Java SE (ability to understand and debug Java code is a must, experience in developing Java code is highly beneficial)
  • Bash scripting
  • Strong Linux administration skills, preferably gained while supporting large-scale financial systems

  • Tomcat
  • Forgerock IAM (OpenAM, OpenDJ)
  • Springboot
  • WebSphere Liberty Profile
  • Python
