    SME Business Analyst (French)

    In relation to the Bermuda Finance Systems processes we are looking for the candidates that will support the systems maintenance. The candidates responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data loads, inter and intra system data validation, and reconciliation against source data. The role is responsible for running, validating and publishing a series of daily reports to the SharePoint environment. Involves working to tight deadlines and producing reports to a high standard that are used primarily for high profile Management Information for senior management and the businesses. The role will also provide support to the HUB GL Control function of Finance Systems.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Monitoring daily data loads from source systems (primarily HUB) into a SQL production environment and ensuring completion of subsequent builds of database objects used for producing P&L and Balance Sheet data as well as MI reports
    • Investigating and escalating any discrepancies
    • Processing daily loads from SQL relational database into an OLAP data warehouse (Essbase), including reconciliations and escalation of any issues
    • Refreshing standard reports in Excel accessing the SQL environment using MS Query and pivot tables ensuring validation of report data and publishing to Sharepoint
    • Reviewing reports for quality, presentation and identifying anomalies or unusual trending. Communicating observations to onshore Finance Systems team
    • Provide preliminary analysis of report data
    • Updating Excel report templates and embedded SQL statements where new period rollover maintenance is required
    • Assist in GL reconciliation processes
    • User Acceptance Testing of interfaces and process changes for accuracy and completeness
    • Reviewing and learning the process for new reports and changes to reports or processes
    • Assist Finance Systems with continuous process improvements by identifying opportunities and providing feedback
    • Produce and maintain documentation supporting processes
    • Participate in special projects and system upgrades


    • University graduate in financial, economic or technical subject from a reputed institution
    • Up to 4 years experience in a similar position
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Microsoft SharePoint
    • Hands on ability with most office tools (MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Reporting tools)
    • Hyperion Essbase – basic skills with Essbase Excel add-in
    • Excel based reports using pivot tables and queries
    • Excellent analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving
    • Has worked in Systems development and support teams before, in an offshore/on shore model
    • Ability to work and deliver under pressure of tight timelines in a dynamic environment
    • Should be willing to work in shifts as per the process requirements
    • Prior experience in Finance / Finance Operations / Finance Systems area would be preferred
    • Preferably Microsoft SQL – ability to program in SQL will be a distinct advantage
    • General Ledger systems (HUB a key advantage)
    • Good English and French (fluent)
