About the project
You will join the Team that provides world-class charging systems for every vehicle and every purpose. At ABB, that mission has led to a whole range of products under the brand name TerraTM fast charging equipment.
ABB’s cloud software offering is closely integrated with its DC Chargers. This allows us to offer more advanced remote configuration and diagnostic capabilities than third party charge point management systems. In order to introduce new innovations and to further reduce total cost of ownership for charge point operators, we are looking for a new team member as Software Engineer - EV-Charger Remote.
Your responsibilities
- As a Software Engineer, you contribute to the full life cycle of our software solutions. You join refinement sessions with the Product Owner to understand and detail what needs to be implemented
- You collaborate with architects to come up with a robust, scalable, secure and maintainable implementation
- You write production code every day. Naturally, you unit test your code before submitting it for review. In addition, you work with the test engineers on the team to discuss test plans and any issues they may discover
- As part of an Agile Software Development Team, you join daily standups, sprint meetings and retro's
- Once your work is deployed to production, you keep a close eye on it for the first couple of days. Afterwards, Site Reliability Engineers take over the responsibility of monitoring the reliable operation of your team's solutions
Our requirements
- You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and communicate in English fluently
- You have an interest in practical software development in a modern cloud platform, reaching from backend to frontend
- You have a solid foundation in multiple programming languages, preferably C# and Typescript/JS
- You have good base knowledge on topics like multithreading, Data-structures, optimizing algorithms and web-based communication protocols
- You have Web Frontend experience with good JavaScript knowledge including frontend frameworks (preferred: Vue.js)
- You have database knowledge, ideally Azure SQL with Entity Framework, CosmosDB or similar; you have experience with VSCode and VisualStudio or similar; You have a fable for command line based workflows, e.g. PowerShell
- You have experience with Git, and collaboration environments like Github, Azure Devops or GitLab
