About the project
We are looking for a Senior Engineer for a growing international initiative to unleash the power of data and technology. We are developing a suite of next-generation, cloud-native data products. Our suite includes an automation and personalization platform, an ad server, and a natural language understanding engine, all catered to a leading news media brands owned by Ringier AG and RASP.

Your responsibilities
- Application and platform development across all the phases of SDLC, including research, design, testing, integration and rollout
- Collaborating and making proposals to the ongoing improvement of team practices with a view to making the team more effective
- Solving technical issues and troubleshooting systems at scale
- Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
- Interaction with Solution Architect, Customers and other External Stakeholders as a consultant and spokesperson
Our requirements
- Proficiency using JVM languages (Spring Microservices, Java 11)
- Understanding of Web technologies (HTTP, REST APIs, Cookies, CDN/caching, etc.)
- Openness to new technologies and languages (i.e. Kotlin)
- Proven knowledge of DevOps practices
- Ability to address technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Optional
- Familiarity with cloud computing on AWS (S3, RDS, Kinesis, etc.)
- Background in recommendation systems involving Machine Learning models
- Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling
- SOLID principles, Clean Code practices
