About the project
We are looking for a Senior Engineer for a growing international initiative to unleash the power of data and technology. We are developing a suite of next-generation, cloud-native data products. Our suite includes an automation and personalization platform, an ad server, and a natural language understanding engine, all catered to a leading news media brands owned by Ringier AG and RASP.

Your responsibilities
Application and platform development across all the phases of SDLC, including research, design, testing, integration and rollout
Collaborating and making proposals to the ongoing improvement of team practices with a view to making the team more effective
Solving technical issues and troubleshooting systems at scale
Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
Interaction with Solution Architect, Customers and other External Stakeholders as a consultant and spokesperson
Our requirements
Proficiency using JVM languages (Spring Microservices, Java 11)
Understanding of Web technologies (HTTP, REST APIs, Cookies, CDN/caching, etc.)
Openness to new technologies and languages (i.e. Kotlin)
Proven knowledge of DevOps practices
Ability to address technical and non-technical audiences
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Optional
Familiarity with cloud computing on AWS (S3, RDS, Kinesis, etc.)
Background in recommendation systems involving Machine Learning models
Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tooling
SOLID principles, Clean Code practices
