Your responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of the usage of the category (raw materials) and provide financial estimation.
- Understand market dynamics, follow market trends and drive costs out by managing supplier relationship.
- Develop regional preferred suppliers (vendor consolidation), identify global and local cost opportunities, work with sourcing associates from other ABB businesses all over the word and leverage resources.
- Participate in supplier evaluation, supplier audits and periodic supplier market analyses (local and regional).
- Understand how to create a simple, reality-based customer-focused vision and can communicate this in a straightforward way to the key stakeholders and the wider sourcing team.
- Influence decisions and develop agreement with regards to NPI, manufacturing, engineering and services.
- Understand the resistance to the changes in sourcing and knows what it takes to change an organization culture.
- Drive existing projects and identify new cost out opportunities.
- Maintain supplier data (prices, payment terms, lead-times) in SAP.
- Maintains records of all assessments, communications and agreements with suppliers, make sure these records are easily accessible.
- Ensure 2- way communication with business leadership on sourcing matters.
- Apply a variety of tactics moving the negotiations further, while maintaining a positive environment and supplier relations, solves conflicts in an open and candid way.
- Support global initiatives (Cash, Dual Source) while considering ABB business interest.
- Understands the commercial law codes & requirements in supplier agreements.
Our requirements
- Technical University degree (preferred mechanical, electrical or related field).
- Minimum 3 - years of experience in a similar position (experience in a production company will be an asset).
- Proven experience in direct materials projects.
- Knowledge of the supplier market.
- Proficient English in speech and writing.
- Knowledge of tools used in the area of supply chain management.
- Proficient computer support, knowledge of MS Office and SAP.
- Highly developed negotiating and interpersonal skills.

As a Sourcing Commodity Leader you will be responsible of selected direct materials categories (specially Mechanical Components) purchased by ABB’s factory in Aleksandrów Łódzki. In this role you will support the implementation, maintenance and compliance of Procurement & Logistics (PL), practice approved activities and executing assigned activities based on the standard procedures.
Reporting to the SCM Manager, you will provide assistance to the wider business by ensuring that all purchasing activities align with corporate policies and procedures and by providing relevant market information.
