Position Summary
A Senior Buyer is deeply involved in conducting analysis to support category strategy development and execution.  They work closely with internal stakeholders to achieve their objectives by: working together to source suppliers who can deliver quality services and products at the best value, supporting negotiations with incumbent vendors, reviewing supplier performance etc. They will lead category/supplier management for sub-categories and suppliers assigned to them.
Sr. Buyers are required to have experience in sourcing materials and services, strong analytical skills with experience using Excel to conduct quantitative analysis along with experience of managing negotiations.
This role requires experience in Indirect Procurement specifically; MRO, CAPEX, Site Services and Facilities Management, although other areas of Indirect Procurement are in scope.

Accountabilities
  • Lead sourcing events in line with Energizers Strategic Sourcing Approach; including conducting spend and opportunity analysis, data collection, leading RFI and RFP’s, utilizing the Ariba e-procurement system
  • Be involved with supplier QBR’s and manage contract compliance
  • Establish a knowledge of stakeholder management processes and ensure engagement with stakeholders
  • Support the development of category specific pipelines
  • The Sr. Buyer will be involved in all aspects of Indirect Procurement (market intelligence, spend analytics, sourcing, category management, contracting and risk management) within Energizers EMEA locations and footprint

Specific Accountabilities
  • Supports and independently executes supplier negotiations, including: Contract renewals, cost reduction, value creation and cash flow improvement
  • Manages day-to-day stakeholder relationship activities
  • Proactively drives compliance to Energizers procurement policy and processes
  • Supports Energizer’s financial and compliance risk management program
  • Implements company procurement initiatives and supports global projects
  • Interfaces with US legal department to ensure contract approval process is managed and correct signatory level is obtained
Required Skills and Experience
  • Around 4-7 years Procurement experience, preferably within Indirect Procurement – including min. 2 years of MRO / Capex
  • Experience in planning and conducting negotiations
  • Reasonable commercial and legal understanding of contracts
  • Collaborative skills to work with other company departments
  • Excellent analytical and Microsoft Excel skills
  • Good organisational and planning ability, managing multiple projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to present in business-friendly language and formats
  • Can demonstrate motivation to drive personal development

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Additional areas of Indirect Procurement: e.g. Supply Chain, Marketing, Corporate Services
  • Knowledge of SAP and Ariba is desirable
  • Experience of Strategy Sourcing process
  • Influencing skills: ability to adapt style to suit audience
  • Managing stakeholders, suppliers and negotiation from “afar” – specifically Middle East and the UK
  • Educated to degree level
