    The Reconciliation and Merchant Escalations Teams are part of the Risk Operations Team and work within the Groupon Shared Service Center, located in our Warsaw office and supporting the EMEA & APAC regions. The aim of the Risk Operations Team is to prevent and minimise financial loss for the company. With +20 people on board, we are currently looking to hire junior talent that seek international exposure, development in the area of Risk Operations and having impact over Groupon’s business on a regional level (EMEA & APAC).     The Reconciliation Specialist is a full-time position for a team player & problem solver ready to start their journey within a global organization that has excellent communication skills in French and English. Your role will be to work with Excel on a daily basis to conduct the necessary checks on all reconciliations of the merchant disputes acting as a contact point within the department. You will work closely with multiple departments across Groupon, as they explore and attempt to recover the financial loss to Groupon through previous deals.


    • Target based customer facing recovery for overpayments
    • Use Groupon’s systems to investigate and gather evidence to support claims
    • Using sound negotiations to settle occasional disagreements
    • Efficient management of customer contact through to conclusion
    • Building inter-department relations for effective communication and process building
    • Become a contact point for the team with a sound knowledge of all processes and pending recoveries
    • Investigate escalated issues and cases and prepare extensive reports where necessary
    • Improve current processes in accordance with the department’s needs
    • Reporting any potential threat spotted to the revenue or processes of the company
    • Maintaining discretion and professionalism given the sensitive nature of the role
    • Be available to perform additional tasks set by the Reconciliations Manager on an ad hoc basis


    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English (min. C1)
    • Strong analytical & problem solving skills
    • Ability to self-start and self-direct in an unstructured environment
    • Comfortable making creative judgment calls and handling difficult conversations


    • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business discipline preferred
    • Previous experience in collections, risk, finance, insurance or credit management is nice to have
