The Global Compliance & Reporting  (GCR) team closely cooperates with  EY’s EMEIA Tax Center (ETC) to provide specialist tax, business and technology expertise to address clients’ most pressing challenges in an exciting, dynamic tax and business environment, through a broad range of innovative service offerings, delivering exceptional client service across borders.

The GCR team comprises  dynamic individuals spread across 13 countries and more than 20 offices.  We have specialist tax and finance skill sets spanning the areas of Statutory Reporting, Service Management, Direct Tax Compliance & Reporting, Indirect Tax, Finance BPO, Funds Tax Management, and Payroll. We focus on supporting our clients in managing their compliance and reporting requirements, centrally and locally, and delivering on their transformation agendas. Our Statutory Reporting professionals are involved in preparation of required statutory financial statements or other financial information. Our Statutory Reporting teams combine a blend of central and country expertise to prepare globally consistent group to local GAAP bridging packs and to deliver a consistent and standardized financial statement preparation process.

The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant to join Statutory Reporting team to support our Global Clients in a multi country Statutory Reporting Compliance capacity. The Statutory Reporting process will involve data gathering and validation, through to GAAP bridging between Group GAAP (US GAAP/ IFRS) and local GAAP and support in the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements.

Your key responsibilities 

  • Preparing of standardized Group GAAP to Local GAAP bridge adjustments for multi-country engagements within central technology
  • Preparing of supporting methodology documentation for Group GAAP to Local GAAP bridge
  • Meticulous adherence to the compliance calendar of client to ensure smooth finalization of books, and statutory reporting
  • Identify client requirements by gaining thorough understanding of business process and operations
  • Adhere to defined processes and timelines on reports and schedules
  • Update dashboard to demonstrate progress of activities and status quo of multi country engagements
  • Provide timely and comprehensive answers to clients’ queries 

 Skills and attributes for success 

  • Must be motivated, self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Very good work organization, initiative and commitment
  • Excellent communication skills in Business English – written and spoken

To qualify for the role, you must have 

  • Master’s degree in Economics or Accounting or equivalent
  • Very good knowledge of Excel
  • Basic knowledge of tax and accounting processes and accounting principles (IFRS, US GAAP knowledge is an asset);

 Ideally, you’ll also have

  • GAAP Bridging experience is an asset
  • Experience in preparation or review of Financial Statements is an asset
  • Understanding and experience working with various ERP reporting solutions
  • Experience at an international level
  • Flexibility.
