The Global Compliance & Reporting (GCR) team closely cooperates with EY’s EMEIA Tax Center (ETC) to provide specialist tax, business and technology expertise to address clients’ most pressing challenges in an exciting, dynamic tax and business environment, through a broad range of innovative service offerings, delivering exceptional client service across borders.
The GCR team comprises dynamic individuals spread across 13 countries and more than 20 offices. We have specialist tax and finance skill sets spanning the areas of Statutory Reporting, Service Management, Direct Tax Compliance & Reporting, Indirect Tax, Finance BPO, Funds Tax Management, and Payroll. We focus on supporting our clients in managing their compliance and reporting requirements, centrally and locally, and delivering on their transformation agendas. Our Statutory Reporting professionals are involved in preparation of required statutory financial statements or other financial information. Our Statutory Reporting teams combine a blend of central and country expertise to prepare globally consistent group to local GAAP bridging packs and to deliver a consistent and standardized financial statement preparation process.
The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager to join Statutory Reporting team to support our Global Clients in a multi country Statutory Compliance capacity. The Statutory Reporting process will involve data gathering and validation, through to GAAP bridging between Group GAAP (US GAAP/ IFRS) and local GAAP and support in the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements. You will have the opportunity to develop relationships with key accounts and will be responsible for seeking process improvement opportunities for established clients, in addition to implementing services for new clients.
Your key responsibilities
- Ensure smooth delivery of financial statement close process and statutory reporting
- Coordinate the global statutory reporting compliance for Global Clients
- Front ending client to provide exception exceptional client service on delivery
- Coordinate and review the activities that are performed centrally and by EY local offices
- Provide detailed insight in the Group GAAP to Local GAAP reconciliation to group management
- Cooperate with the Client Global Process Owners on the statutory processes and continuous improvement opportunities
- Own and maintain internal and external reporting dashboards to demonstrate progress of activities and status quo of multi country engagements
- Willingness to challenge status quo processes and desire to implement process improvements by providing lean ideas, enforcing an environment with uncompromising controls and improve quality
- Detailed review of financial statements, schedules and workings to testify the quality of deliverables, and assist in effectively implementing the internal review mechanism and Control process.
- Coach and develop the team of junior and senior accountants.
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience in developing teams and ability to lead a team of experienced finance colleagues.
- Proven track of working with leaders from across geographies and managing the deliverables under a fast-changing expectation with accurate quality in a metrics environment.
- Outlook towards increasing the productivity and resource utilization, and ability to effectively implement the process change with adequate engagement support.
- Exposure on International assignments on F & A Transitions, Auditing, Consulting or other engagements is an added advantage for this role
- Excellent communication skills in Business English – written and spoken.
- Excellent presentation, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Extensive knowledge of (US) GAAP and IFRS.
- Extensive professional experience in audit/accounting ideally working with global clients
- Master’s degree in Economics or Accounting or equivalent
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Qualified chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, PIBR)
- GAAP bridging experience is an asset
- Understanding and experience working with various GST reporting solutions
- Experience at an international level
- Track record of managing teams.
