Supplier Quality Engineer

Your responsibilities

  • Oversee site supplier management processes in line with Johnson Matthey Battery Materials’ Quality strategy to achieve customer approval and IATF 16949 accreditation.

  • Maintain and analyse key supplier performance indicators to identify trends and drive improvement actions with the intent to reduce internal and external failure costs.

  • Support the monitoring and analysis of key incoming material characteristics.

  • Be key point of contact with Konin supply base in addressing supplier-related issues, seeking corrective actions and managing improvement plans.

  • Support, manage and conduct supplier quality audits in line with Sector audit programme.

  • Support the introduction of new material suppliers and/or products into the Konin site

  • Support supplier management training to relevant site personnel

  • Support application of Johnson Matthey Group supplier relationship management policies.

  • Coordinate appropriate resources to achieve specified objectives

  • Support site and sector process owners in the development and deployment of appropriate procurement and quality processes and systems

  • Working with the site analytical team, support the application of appropriate inspection strategy and statistical techniques for incoming materials

Our requirements

  • University education, preferred fields of study: quality, engineering

  • Minimum length experience previously in a similar role - 5 years

  • Detailed, working knowledge of Automotive Quality Standards such as IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 , PPAP, APQP and FMEA

  • Qualified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor

  • Qualified IATF 16949 Lead auditor- will be an asset

  • Project management experience

  • Fluent level of written and spoken English and Polish

  • Experience in building and maintaining positive supplier relationships

  • Excellent problem solving skills

  • Facilitating Change

  • Strong communication skills

  • Willingness to business trips

  • Willingness to learn and apply new skills (continuous learning)

This position is responsible for

  • Working in a team environment with suppliers to develop and implement best practices that emphasise defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste.

  • Being responsible for continuous improvements in meeting all customer requirements. Collecting root cause analysis and provide corrective feedback to prevent line stops due to supply issues.

  • Ensuring that the site supply chain functions continually develop their processes in line with the design intent of the customer and verify their systems to ensure they are compliant with the end customer’s needs.

  • Supporting the establishment and continuous improvement of supply chain processes in accordance with the requirements of standards: IATF 16949, VDA 6.3, etc., Customer Specific Requirements (CSR), JMBM oneQUALITY.
