About the project

The System Analyst Business Partner role will support the Higher Education International Sales Operations team and partners with the Service/Platform Owner concerning the oversight for Pearson’s global Salesforce technology platforms and complementary enabling tools.

This role is critical in managing projects across a portfolio of Salesforce technology solutions including traditional CRM management, sales and marketing automation platform management, and other integrated software solutions. This role works in partnership across Pearson’s divisional leadership to understand Pearson strategy as it relates to the Salesforce Sales and Marketing Cloud ecosystem and other enabling functions.

Key to the success of this role is understanding Pearson’s strategic goals and how we align everything we do to achieving those goals. The System Analyst Business Partner plays a key role in understanding and maintaining Salesforce and complementary digital platforms, focusing on the acceleration of sustainable growth, simplification of systems and processes, elevating customer trust and reducing tech debt. We must never lose sight of the ability to create positive impacts for Pearson’s external clients, educators, and learners.

This role requires a desire to understand the ever-changing Salesforce sales and marketing tools landscape and trends. Candidates should love to be challenged and work effectively across teams in international time zones via remote methods. Ideal candidates can handle changing priorities and be detail oriented, as well as thrive in an environment that acknowledges cultural differences and supports diversity and inclusion.

Your responsibilities

  • Support of current Salesforce and complementary technology systems through day-to-day system maintenance and data governance

  • Participates in recommendations to divisional leaders and business teams to help accelerate sustainable growth and effective use of global Salesforce technology systems

  • Contributes to the documentation of the Salesforce marketing systems architecture and individual project documentation

  • Leads teams in Salesforce infrastructure deployment, integrations, and special projects, serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and support for UAT business stakeholders

  • Triages incoming development requests evaluating for clarity, completeness of problem/objective statement, and complexity for determination of release suitability

  • Ensures understanding of end-to-end customer engagement processes and supporting systems

  • Promotes the adoption and utilization of the organization’s global Salesforce technology solutions by working with business teams to develop and deploy automations, journeys and workflows in Salesforce

  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to meet and align changing divisional and business priorities including the elicitation of business requirements

  • Gathers and disseminates critical information to platform users and business teams

  • Supports the development of training sessions for Salesforce ecosystem and complementary tools as well as driving demos and Proofs of Concept

Our requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • Certified Salesforce Admin

  • Certified Salesforce Marketing Cloud Consultant

  • Advanced experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (formerly known as Pardot)

  • Mid- to high-level experience with SOQL queries and writing AmpScript in Salesforce Marketing Cloud

  • Experience with FormAssembly or other advanced form-building platforms

  • Understands omni-channel customer journeys with emphasis on digital

  • Mid-level experience in delivering solutions through the software development lifecycle

  • Mid- to high-level experience in gathering project and/or technical requirements

  • Experience in working within JIRA

  • We are seeking a candidate with a passion for learning about the Salesforce technology needs of our Higher Education International team, identifying gaps, and executing the best possible solutions. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Salesforce Administrator with deep experience on both Salesforce Sales Cloud and Marketing Cloud, as they will interface with a variety of business partners, along with a tech team to ensure well-managed execution of processes and deliverables. They will also closely work with legal and data privacy teams to ensure that Pearson meets all corporate, international, and contractual standards when necessary.

  • Candidates should be eager to learn more than just the Salesforce architecture and platforms; they must be willing to participate in a diverse employee population, building relationships with Pearson internal teams. The right person will develop a clear understanding of Pearson’s overall mission and work to apply technology toward that goal in a way everyone can understand. Communication and presentation skills as well as data analysis abilities make this possible.

  • With an experienced background in Salesforce technology trends, our candidate is comfortable educating others on the latest technology, which helps make transitions to new platforms and tools smoother for all key stakeholders by speaking the language of business teams, marketers and hard-core technologists.
