Your responsibilities

  • As a System Engineer you will be involved in systems and products development included in the ETCS/ERTMS onboard solutions and support in the adaptation and application of Alstom ERTMS products

  • Identify and assess country specific requirements in national specifications, NNTRs (Notified National Technical Rules), infrastructure requirements, operational requirements, and product requirements (explicit and implicit)

  • Define system requirements, define system context and interfaces

  • Define acceptance criteria, verification, validation and test criteria

  • Support on specific country details for software developers, integrators, testers, validators (e.g. explain requirements, assess nonconformities) and homologation

  • Preparing relevant documentation and carrying reviews acc. to internal processes

  • Showing evidence for the system to validators, assessors and authorities (preparing verifications acc. to internal verification methods)

  • Support and participate in the development of the existing processes together with the relevant stakeholders

  • Tutorial support, support for training and knowledge transfer

Our requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, mathematics, natural science (or relevant field e.g. systems, railway signalling, etc.)

  • Relevant experience with system engineering in a similar environment

  • Good understanding of HW and SW interactions and basic knowledge of software development within complex system architectures

  • Analytical and very structured way of working is mandatory

  • Experience in working with standards and norms is highly valued

  • Good knowledge of basic Office applications (MS Office)

  • Knowledge of functionality of railway systems, especially ERTMS/ETCS and national train protection systems is a plus

  • Experience of other safety-critical systems is highly valued

  • Knowledge of how customers operate railway signalling systems and products and which operational and functional needs the systems shall satisfy is considered a plus

  • Experience in requirement management tools like DOORS is a plus

  • Very good social, communication and presentation skills

  • Fluent in English and Polish (spoken & written) is a requirement; any of the Eastern/South-Eastern Europe languages, such as Slovak, Czech, Slovenian, Hungarian, Romanian or Croatian are great asset to the role
