About the project
Our client is a leading global Financial Market data provider who runs several change programs to deliver high-quality software that connects Financial Markets across the globe in a real-time, high frequency, and low-latency data management chain. The projects are technically challenging in a very engaging environment making the most of cutting-edge technologies covering the domains of Real-Time, Big Data, Cloud, and Machine Learning.
The Index Data Processing Platform (IDPS) is a program whose main purpose is to drive improvements across data collection, data management and data governance resulting in improved efficiencies, robustness, and the ability for our business to use our data as an asset by driving both cost savings and revenue opportunities. We are looking for a Data Base Engineer for Team Lead position who will participate in the analysis, definition, design, construction, testing, installation, and modification of medium to large infrastructures.
Your responsibilities
Lead team of 5-8 team members
Represent Luxoft in architectural and design sessions with the client senior engineering team
Provide technical leadership and oversight to the team members
Ensure software is compliant with latest company standards
Participates in project planning sessions with clients, business analysts, and team members to analyze requirements and provides design recommendations for complex systems
Works with project teams to define and design the scope for each project
Works closely with planning and technology architects to assure all systems are in line with IT long-term strategy
Provides design recommendations, develops application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces
Makes complex modifications to existing software applications in accordance with high-level specifications and industry standards
Reviews effort to ensure compliance to application architecture standards
Develops new cross-functional software systems using disciplined software development processes
Carries out unit testing and implements cross-functional systems ensuring the system meets the needs of clients and businesses
Researches new and emerging technologies
Provides technical leadership, coaching, and mentoring to application development teams
Utilizes and stays current on multiple programming languages and software technologies
Performs and tests firmware/OS upgrades, troubleshoots system issues, and arranges hardware replacements/upgrades for various platforms including HPE Synergy
Our requirements
Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in software development
Experience of leading development teams
Proven experience working with MS SQL Server
Good knowledge of T-SQL (3+ years)
Understanding of ETL, main DWH principles
Understanding of sharding and clustering
Optimization of dynamic SQL (2+ year)
Strong analytical skills
BS/MS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, and/or related field or equivalent work experience
Good communication skills
Able to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment
English: B2 Upper Intermediate

Experience in a market-data environment is a plus
