Your responsibilities

  • Responsible for the engineering operations of the business in Lodz, Poland. Directs and oversees business engineering practices, including the effective optimization of equipment and materials for production.

  • Leads the introduction of new/modified equipment, tools, software and systems.

  • Provides insight and develops priorities for engineering projects and services, while ensuring engineering performance and quality goals are met.

  • Analyzes market and technology demands to assess the feasibility of projects and plans.

  • Establishes engineering standards and manage budgetary controls, while collaborating with global Line Managers for the different subject areas established locally, handle their workload and support long range competence development requirements.

  • Liaises between Sales, Bid Management, and Engineering leaders (in both the Industrial Applications and Generation Divisions) to forecast load, devise resource plans, and commit to schedules for technical documentation prior to handover from Sales to Project Execution

  • Sets targets and monitors Engineering productivity (hours and total cost), quality aspects (NCC, Lessons Learned), and status on key technical work (e.g. drawings, bills of materials, and purchasing specifications) for the portfolio of Customer Projects.

Our requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical, Systems, or Electrical Engineering, or a related polytechnical field of study

  • 10+ years of combined experience in technical roles (e.g. Engineering, Proposals, Manufacturing, and/or Services) related to package designs of rotating equipment supplied by the Siemens Energy Industrial Applications Products business unit (e.g. gas turbines, centrifugal compressors)

  • 5+ years of experience leading and developing a team of direct-reports and/or leading project-based teams in a Customer Order capacity

  • Working knowledge of industry standards – notably from the American Petroleum Institute (API) – and experience adapting product offerings to meet special Customer and application-specific requirements which are typical of the Oil & Gas industry

  • Peer-recognized for solving complex problems, developing new business processes, and demonstrating high professional judgement in ambiguous circumstances

  • The selected candidate will be hired with a local contract, if applicable, from the country of application and therefore having residence and valid documentation/authorization to work in the country is required.

A Snapshot of Your Day:

This position will develop and lead an engineering service center, consisting of multiple disciplines of Engineers supporting front end (proposal phase) as well as order execution engineering for Turbo compressor trains.

In close cooperation with the Europe engineering HQ and corresponding global Line Managers, the position will define the roadmap of establishing the engineering community, responsible for the foreseen ramp up and ensure necessary IT and process environment in the office in Lodz, Poland. They will also align and co-develop technical practices for Turbo Machinery Engineering teams based in Duisburg (Germany), Le Havre (France) and Gurgaon/Pune (India), that support the range of product lines that are implemented by Industrial Applications in Europe, including Turbo Compressors (DATUM/RF/STC), and their associated packaging and control systems.
