Evaluating change plans and schedules. Planning activities, include scheduling the change request, assessing risk and impact, creating plans, defining and sequencing the tasks needed to accomplish the change request, and organising people and resources for each task.
Gathering relevant information based on the type of change being
Conducting post-implementation reviews to validate the results of the change request
Use the defined process and tool to manage changes
Recommend changes to ensure a mature Data Center infrastructure and effective service.
Perform all changes necessary to provide the services, while complying with all required service levels.
Coordinate planned change activities and resources, onsite and offsite
Proceed with all change related tickets in the service scope
Configuration item management - operational (updating CMDB)
Perform extensive testing of changes on the infrastructure before implementing to the production environment
Ensure that systems unavailability during maintenance windows is not taking longer than required for the purpose of the system maintenance. (maintence slot)
Performing routine maintenance activities at regular times, which are planned and approved in advance.
Provide appropriate information about the progress of the maintenance activities to affected stakeholders periodicaly.
Supporting on Implementing emergency changes.
Logging and recording activities in the ITSM toolset/Ticketing tool
Update and/or create relevant documentation such as the operation manual (OM) or the technical architecture document (TAD)
Record changes to appropriate tools and documents (HLDs, LLDs, CMDB records) post to change activities
Respond to requests for change from authorized persons and implement changes based on approved and known procedures.
Reception and evaluation of Standard and Non-Standard Changes
Record the change request to the pre-defined ITSM tool.
Take care that RfC information is provided by the resolver groups and defined template is filled accordingly
Assess Change request including Impact and Risk rating and Change categorization.
Review proposed change steps, tasks and timelines
Plan change and coordinate work planning (runbook)
Obtain all necessary change approvals.
Ensure that build and test will be done in an adequate manner using proper tools and methodology
Monitor changes on the system and activities caused by removals, upgrades, component replacements and migrations.
Initiate and manage the Post Implementation Review. Consolidate and store the results.
Close the change request after review and final committment by the requester
Assign and keep-up clear responsibility for single changes throughout the process.
Regular and timely submission of proposed changes respecting the preparation and lead times.
Provide status reports on planned changes including detailed description of steps and timelines
