Your responsibilities

  • Job purpose is to work within a remote infrastructure support team .You will be administrating and maintaining a number of MsSQL Databases for our Customers.

  • Perform daily database administration job

  • DB installation / configuration / upgrade,

  • Backup and Restore

  • Maintenance

  • Security management

  • Troubleshooting of MS SQL server DB technical issues

  • Establish and enforce standards and guidelines as set by the firm’s methodology.

  • Assist in educating applications groups about data administration functions.

  • Perform Database migration and upgrade on standalone MS SQL server.

  • Perform business process re-engineering on current models for possible improvements, such as automation of manual activities.

  • To follows established procedures, recommend improvements and resolve enquiries, issues or problems. To document actions taken for continuous service improvement

  • To take ownership of issues identified. To co-operate with an account team and/or vendor support to provide technical input into incident and problem resolution process

  • To escalate issues as necessary to deliver required service level

  • Be proactive! Take responsibility for learning about current products, systems builds and infrastructure layouts to support daily business requirements

Our requirements

  • SQL server 2012 though 2017 experience. SQL server 2019 knowledge will be an asset.

  • High Availability solutions experience will be an asset.

  • Knowledge of SQL server Tools (SSMS, Configuration Manager, sqlcmd)

  • Nice to have: experience with scripting languages and/or tools

  • Nice to have: Cloud MS SQL server DB (IaaS, PaaS) support and provision knowledge

  • B1 level (or higher) of Spoken and Written English including technical vocabulary

  • Keen to learn/discuss and follow through an issue with data driven approach

  • Self-motivated team player with great communication skills and business understanding
