This is a great opportunity to join us as an Technical Systems Engineer in the function of a CAD/CAE/EDI Systems Administrator in the Engineering IT Team in Gliwice.

Tenneco’s Powertrain and Clean Air Tech Centers around the globe require specific IT process support to ensure the efficiency of their engineers and support innovation.
The Engineering IT teams are accountable for the definition and implementation of solutions to support global Engineering processes. These processes include Product Design (CAD), Analysis/Simulation (CAE) and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) of Engineering data to and from our customers, as well as Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). The Engineering IT group works closely with the Engineering business community and other IT groups to ensure processes are implemented as designed.
The Technical Systems Engineer role is responsible for installing and configuring standard or custom solutions. In addition, responsibilities include license management, maintaining application-specific user profiles and user support.

Key Responsibilities

Projects & Development
  • Work with Project Manager, Customer and Process Analyst to ensure solution meets business requirements
  • Create system solution based on functional description
  • Configure and test system solution
Document system configurations
  • System Administration & Support
  • Level 2 support and consultation for applications
  • License configuration, monitoring and reporting
  • Maintain user profiles and customer environments
Additional responsibilities
  • Support Process Analyst with gathering of local business information and by providing application expertise
  • Support Engineering IT Manager with creation of metrics as well as license usage projections for budgetary decisions
What will make you successful
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering, double education IT plus Engineering desired
  • Minimum of 3 years of IT work experience
  • Excellent English and local country language skills
  • Two years of working experience with Engineering processes
  • Working experience with remote support of an international user community
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Windows 10
  • Experience with Win Server 2016 or higher and MS Systems Center for software deployments desired
  • Intermediate knowledge of Linux operating systems desired
  • Experience with supporting major CAD packages such as CATIA, Siemens NX, Creo Parametric, AutoCAD
  • Experience with supporting major CAE packages, such as Abaqus, Nastran, ANSYS, HyperWorks or Siemens Simcenter desired
  • Experience with using a major PLM solution such as PTC Windchill, Teamcenter or SAP PLM desired
  • Experience with managing concurrent license pools for Engineering software
  • Experience with systems for exchange of technical data (e.g. TRUexchange, OFTP/ENGDAT, OEM Teamcenter clients) desired
  • Must possess a disciplined approach and commitment to delivering on Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and project go-live dates
  • Strong problem solving skills
