About the project

Parasoft is looking for a self-driven technical writer to join our fast-moving Development team. You will be responsible for creating customer-facing technical documentation for several product lines. In this role, you will work closely with product managers, software engineers, and other team members to ensure that the product documentation is up-to-date, accurate, and delivers useful information to our customers. You may also be called on to assist with sales and marketing collateral, such as white papers, case studies, blogs, and articles for industry publications.

Your responsibilities

  • Create and maintain end-user documentation for several products in the Parasoft portfolio.

  • Design and maintain an effective documentation structure in Confluence.

  • Work hands-on with the software being documented.

  • Ensure that documentation follows consistent writing style standards and guidelines.

  • Actively look for opportunities to improve documentation content, processes, and/or workflows.

  • Actively participate in product planning meetings.

  • Provide feedback to developers, leads, and product managers when applicable.

  • Assist and engage other writers in the company as needed.

Our requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience writing end-user documentation for software products -or- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in English, Computer Science, Technical Writing, or Instructional Design, with 3+ years of technical writing experience, preferably for software development.

  • Experience using a wiki-based documentation system (Confluence).

  • Experience tracking work in Jira or similar system.

  • Experience working as part of an agile team.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn "geek-level" material rapidly and independently.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.

  • Comfortable developing new content from scratch.

  • Attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability and desire to work hands-on with the software being documented.

Optional

  • Knowledge of software testing technologies.

  • Knowledge of computer development environments, operating systems, and programming languages.

  • Excellent at reviewing documentation written by other writers to ensure clarity, completeness, accuracy, and overall quality standards.

  • Familiarity with Scroll Versions for Confluence.

  • Familiarity with Git, SVN, or another version control system.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

STAGE 1 - Application

You apply for a role at Parasoft. We review your application.

STAGE 2 - Phone call

We contact selected candidates by phone to briefly discuss the role and ask a few questions about your experience and motivation. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions and understand the role better.

STAGE 3 - Interview meeting

We invite selected candidates to an interview - at our office or online, depending on the pandemic restrictions.

The meeting takes about 90 minutes and allows us to learn more about your professional competencies and your knowledge of testing methodology. You are asked to do a technical test and/or perform a practical task. We also would like to find out about your availability and financial expectations.

Your prospective team leader participates in the meeting to provide you with details about the company and the team, as well answer your questions - don't hesitate to ask!

STAGE 4 - Decision

We analyze the information we collected during interviews and select the candidate who is the best fit for the role and our team. If we can't take your candidature forward, we we'll let you know. If we want you to join the Parasoft family, we'll contact you with the offer.
