About the project

As part of Deutsche Telekom’s International E2E IoT Integration & Validation team you will be responsible to develop test automation scripts to enable the introduction of high quality software releases for M2M/IoT Platforms (BSS/OSS), ensuring successful deployment of new features matching functional requirements.

Performing self-organized acceptance testing of 3rd Party developed software for IoT Platforms requires a good understanding of validation requirements and test methodologies necessary to adjust the approach of testing to current needs. The main focus on automation aspects of testing.

Your responsibilities

  • Using automated test scenarios to validate and verify new firmware releases incl. maintenance updates in LAB and PROD environments;

  • Steering best practice test methodologies to achieve optimal testing efficiency in an automated manner;

  • Detail root cause analysis of faults found during testing and give technical assessment on their severity, along with customer impact statements. Good levels of problem solving skills and technical competency are required;

  • Document validation results and defects with tools/databases, like Jira / xRay / Conflurence;

  • Creating detailed technical descriptions of defects for internal project managers and vendor developers;

  • Works self-responsible but closely in a bigger team supporting the other team members with personal know-how and technical expertise;

  • Ability to drive the projects with established good communication to meet internal business demands and customer demands

Our requirements

  • University education in computer science, information technology, telecommunication and electrical engineering or physics;

  • Previously worked within cross functional and international teams;

  • At least 4-5 year experience in software testing;

  • Knowledge of testing theory / ITIL processes

  • Knowledge in API testing (Soap, REST, SoapUI/Postman);

  • Knowledge of test automation process (e.g. Selenium Framework / Jenkins / Maven / Ant / Ruby);

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to research & solve complex issues independently;

  • Ability to communicate complex information in simple form to management;

  • Good English language skills in spoken and written - Intermediate+ (B2)

  • Willingness to travel within Europe to national DT companies and central office in Germany.

  • Experience in working in agile methodology (SCRUM)

  • Understanding of telecommunication basics

Optional

  • Knowledge in Unix/Linux OS (CL and scripting)

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices: CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes

  • Knowledge of SQL

  • Knowledge of JAVA

  • Understanding of ELK stack

  • Understanding of Session handling

  • Understanding of network topology
