Traded Risk Process Senior Analyst
Location: Kraków

The team performs group-level oversight and analysis of HSBC’s counterparty and market risk and owns HSBC’s group-wide policies for these risks. The successful candidate will support the senior members of the team with the governance routines relating to these activities and, under direction of senior team members, will be responsible for performing specific pieces of market and counterparty risk analysis. This will include preparation of analysis which feeds into group-level management committees. This is a high-profile role which will give a high-potential risk manager an opportunity to expand his/her experience. This role requires experience of counterparty risk and/or market risk management and associated risk methodologies and capital treatments, probably gained within a specific risk discipline or risk asset class.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Working with Global Banking and Traded Risk teams
  • Interacting with many regions. Management of time is important as some tasks have to be completed urgently due to trading deadlines, with other tasks being more flexible
  • Maintain global consistency with respect to risk governance and practice
  • Provide responsive and high quality service to all stakeholders
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
  • Regular interface with senior management at GCB 2 or 3 levels
  • Required to undertake all work within FIM guidelines where necessary
  • Promotion of globally-consistent risk management techniques

Requirements:

  • University graduate in finance, computer science or any other quantitative related degrees
  • Strong experience of financial markets/products
  • Strong risk management techniques, reporting and governance
  • Advanced knowledge of counterparty risk management techniques and practice
  • Advanced knowledge of derivatives and securities financing transactions
  • Self-starter, who can think proactively and able to work without constant supervision
  • Thorough understanding of advanced risk management techniques across a diverse wholesale portfolio
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Able to interact effectively with senior management within risk and the business
  • Experience working with different cultures
  • Forward looking and business oriented
