The Training Specialist is a critical member of the CIB Learning & Development Team, who provides best-in-class training products and services to support the CIB’s business priorities and to attract and retain top talent in the industry.  Our programs are distinguished by extensive business engagement with CIB professionals actively involved in training design and instruction on a global basis.  As a member of the team, you will be involved and partnered closely with the business and HR Business Partners and Specialists to support training and development programs globally for professionals across the CIB.  

About the role:     

Supporting & project managing a number of Programs to include:   

  • Scheduling/logistics management – Including booking senior business speakers, writing    and sending calendar invites, writing up the agenda, briefing senior speakers, booking rooms, multi-media and catering.
  • Creating agendas, name badges/cards, creating PowerPoint slides
  • Liaising with speakers and delegates, sending communications
  •   Ensure virtual classroom links are available to participants and materials are uploaded to the virtual room.
  • Data entry/extraction from the “learning management system” in partnership with program leads
  • Evaluation and reporting – partner with Program Managers to implement methods to measure participant feedback, skills transfer, and return on investment. 
  • Extract themes and create summaries - pulling reports, analyzing data for key themes and trends, ability to create pivot tables, graphs and transfer this data into PowerPoint slides for updates to senior management and overall management reporting
  • Vendor relationship management – liaise and partner with vendors delivering technical and professional training to ensure successful delivery for our clients,  
  • Expense management - Manage and track program budgets; create Purchase Orders (POs) and process invoice payments for vendor program delivery.  Process non-vendor/program related invoices. Record program expenses via global financial tracking system and reconcile against the budget.
  • Program design – partner with Program Managers, HR Business Partners, Development, and clients/subject matter experts to design courses using a combination of internal and external resources.  Help secure client sponsorship of training/participation from the business
  •  Needs assessment – partner with Program Managers to conduct needs assessments to determine training requirements.  Needs assessment methods include job analysis, focus groups, interviews, and surveys.  Analyze results and make recommendations
  •  Functioning as an ‘L&D ambassador’ able to answer queries and questions relating to our programs via email and telephone.  We partner closely across all levels of the business analyst through to MD so strong English communication skills are required for the role.

Experience & attributes:

  • 3 + years of professional experience (preferably in HR).
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent).
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills
  • Client-centric with strong interpersonal skills able to build partnerships with clients and key global stakeholders.
  • Strong communicator who is proactive in building relationships, sharing knowledge and leveraging best practice across different lines of business.
  • Ability to priorities and manage multiple simultaneous projects in a fast-moving, complex global environment.
  • Must be detailed oriented and analytical
  • Team player with ability to work collaboratively and on virtual teams
  • Impeccable attention to detail; tenacity and adeptness in problem-solving and identifying solutions
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis Excel,  PowerPoint, and web based learning tools preferred
  • Knowledge of virtual conference conferencing tools such as Adobe Connect and/or Webex will be an advantage
  • Ability to travel as some events take place in other European locations.
