Your responsibilities

  • Leading the Accounting Schematics function for Continental Europe

  • Working closely with Tax and Accounting policy team to ensure requirements are well integrated in accounting documentation

  • Being is a single point of contact for all development work in the continental Europe.

  • Keeping abreast of new regulatory needs and Group requirements

  • Understanding statutory and regulatory requirements and accounting policy to be able to analyze the reporting impacts from system perspective

  • Working with upstream and downstream system and business teams for change implementation

  • Working in tandem with Change team and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the developments are executed on time and with requisite quality

  • Setting up an appropriate governance structure to keep the senior management (Head of FA, CAO, CFO, Head of Financial reporting and Head of Change) updated on timely basis on the progress of the development

  • Ensuring the creation and updating of required Documentation on each development topics following the Group/regional methodology

  • Ensuring adherence to group standards for controls environment. Also ensure all EUCs and other developments build doing the development are tested, registered and signed off by relevant senior management

  • Ensuring data validation by Accounting and Reporting teams before changes implementation by testing follow up to ensure accuracy of the development and resolving the issues identified by working with Accounting and Reporting team

  • Ensuring the reliability of accounting data repository Platon (GOCA, GRCA, PCEC referential basis of financial reporting) through relevant analyzes and controls

Our requirements

  • Senior financial services professional, qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, etc.), with strong technical accounting and reporting skills

  • Experience in Finance project implementation from Accounting/reporting perspective starting from understanding the requirement to sourcing data and finally to reporting lines

  • Experience in designing, implementing and running dual reporting processes- IFRS and Local GAAP

  • Finance project implementation exposure with knowledge of governance framework

  • Experience facing off to Senior Stakeholders across Finance, Businesses and Change team

  • Experience in range of businesses and operational processes across the breadth of the financial services market

  • Experience working in relevant environments, i.e. banking financial, regulatory reporting experience required

  • Skilled in handing and controlling operational data and complex data sets (MS Excel).

  • Strong ability to anticipate, identify and mitigate risks and apply appropriate controls over processes

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and experience of translating data into meaningful analysis

  • Ability to identify and implement change and challenge the status quo

  • Familiarity with Saracen, FTP and other financial systems is desirable but not essential

  • Preferred French Language (Read, Write and Speak)

  • French GAAP knowledge is preferable

Job Description

The Accounting Schematics and Reporting Development activities will be a core part of Financial Accounting team to support accounting and reporting teams for HBCE, subsidiaries and branches in Europe. The role holder will head the Accounting Schematics and Reporting development sub function. The role has a global view of banking activities and Finance system architecture to ensure appropriate accounting rules are set up and is in compliance with IFRS and French regulations. It will collaborate with Businesses and Finance stakeholders to assess accounting impact and explain regulations standards.

The Role will be a single point of contact for all developments work for accounting and reporting. It will work in tandem with Change team and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the reporting developments are executed on time and with requisite quality. The role will ensure that appropriate governance structure is in place to keep the senior management (Head of FA, CAO, CFO, Head of Financial reporting and Head of Change) cognizant of progress of development. The role will be the key for Finance Transformation and production process improvement.
