Leading the financial reporting function for France and its branches in Continental Europe.
Overseeing the production and review of all financial reporting deliverables of the continental Europe, including IFRS, FINREP, GSIBs reporting, etc. The deliverables encompass: P&L, actual and average balance sheet, off-balance sheet, inter-company, IFRS 9 credit reporting, etc.
Managing a team of 15 to 20 people including hiring, performance/talent management, succession planning and reward and recognition.
Deputizing for the head of Financial Accounting.
Reviewing and reporting the necessary financial accounting information together with detailed business based commentary to facilitate regional and group review and discussions.
Being is a single point of contact for all IFRS and French GAAP related queries from senior management (CAO, CFO, External and Internal Auditors) for the Continental Europe.
Leading the assessment of and conclude on specific technical areas of financial reporting, including financial instruments, asset impairment, IFRS 9 and parent subsidiary relationships.
Leading the delivery of Reporting development across continental Europe working with Financial Reporting Team and Change team.
Leading and/or contributing to transformation projects (e.g. Cloud) and new financial reporting requirements; liaising with Finance Change; managing dry-run submissions with HBEU and Group Financial reporting.
Ensuring adherence to group standards for controls environment and be a single point of contact for Assurance and Audit. Pursue enhancement in control environment through instilling a continuing improvement culture.
Experienced Senior financial services professional, qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, etc.), with strong technical accounting and reporting skills.
Experience in designing, implementing and running dual reporting processes- IFRS and Local GAAP.
Experience in leading large reporting teams with multiple stakeholders.
Experience facing off to Senior Stakeholders (CAO, CFO, External and Internal Auditors)
Experience of a range of businesses and operational processes across the breadth of the financial services market.
Experience working in relevant environments, i.e. financial, regulatory reporting experience required.
Skilled in handing and controlling operational data and complex data sets (MS Excel).
Strong ability to anticipate, identify and mitigate risks and apply appropriate controls over Reporting processes.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills and experience of translating data into meaningful analysis.
Familiarity with Saracen, FTP and other financial systems is desirable but not essential.
Ability to identify and implement change and challenge the status quo.
Preferred French speaking.
French GAAP knowledge is preferable.

Global Finance Operations (GFO) provides a variety of financial support services to business partners across the HSBC Group. The role is based in the Global Finance Centre in Krakow, Poland. The Centre is supporting the development of the businesses across the European region. The Centre covers all finance functions including Business Finance, Financial Control and Systems
The Financial Accounting team is responsible for all financial reporting both in IFRS and local GAAP for Continental Europe entities. The scope of reporting is very large – IFRS, FINREP, GSIB, VIR, local French Financial reporting and statistical reports. The team also contributes to HBCE and subsidiaries annual reports.
The team is connected with Businesses, Risk and Finance teams to understand drivers of the activity and operations. The team is involved in Business and systems changes projects to assess impact in Financial reporting and participate to implementation.
