Your responsibilities

  • Overseeing the preparation and submission of the regulatory reporting returns (Capital, RWA and Leverage Ratio) within the scope of the local reporting to the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel / European Central Bank, Banque de France, Single Resolution Board for HSBC Continental Europe (HBCE: France and EEA branches) and consolidated reporting to the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) for HBEU and Group in a timely matter and to a high standard;

  • Overseeing the quality and accuracy of Pillar 3 and related regulatory external disclosures included within the HBCE interim and annual reported accounts for the Bank;

  • Participating in capital planning activities with business, ALCM and Risk functions on projects aiming at optimizing regulatory ratios;

  • Providing subject matter expertise, individually and through the team, to stakeholders across business, Risk and Finance on RWAs, Capital and Leverage, including in the context of strategic business transformation;

  • Overseeing the successful delivery of European Banking Authority (EBA) and Climate stress testing contributions for the bank

  • Ensuring excellence in reporting and answers to ad-hoc regulatory requests;

  • Maintaining strong relationships with all the external regulators;

  • Developing strong working relationships with the Group and other Regulatory Reporting leads in other locations in order to provide consistent and coherent regulatory submissions; strengthening "join up" culture within Financial Control;

  • Supporting the successful delivery of the Regulatory Reporting transformation initiatives including strategic business decisions and mandatory regulatory changes;

  • Monitoring and driving local regulation changes (Basel 3 Reform, ESG Pillar 3 disclosures, Cloud and CRR2 Day 2 migrations, implementation of the New Definition of Default, Fundamental Review of the Trading Book, IRB Repair) impacting local regulatory reporting;

  • Ensuring the necessary changes are made in the respective processes and controls, to continue to meet all necessary regulatory reporting requirements;

  • Cultivating a culture of control issue identification, documentation, remediation and governance;

  • Supporting risk assessment of all prudential regulatory reporting processes and agree a sustainable regulatory reporting remediation plan within the Regulatory Reporting Enhancement Programme (RREP);

  • Being accountable on a variety of regulatory matters in relation with regulatory policy.

Our requirements

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience preferably in regulatory reporting or similar experience with strong knowledge of Basel regulation, RWA risk types, capital and leverage ratios;

  • Proven leadership ability and team working skills;

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;

  • Good knowledge of Bank’s financial statements key components and their dynamics;

  • Strong ability to anticipate, identify and mitigate risks and apply appropriate controls;

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders, both internal and external;

  • Mindset of continuous improvement and aiming for excellence;

  • Ability to evolve in a challenging and changing environment;

  • Quantitative degree, ideally with professional education in Finance Skills

  • Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Fluent English (written and spoken).

  • French language skills advantageous though not essential

  • Professional accounting qualification or equivalent
