    Analytics Developer (FCTM IT)

    Financial Crime Risk (FCR) brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC and is dedicated to implementing the most effective global standards to combat financial crime. Financial Crime Threat Management (FCTM), a sub-function of FCR, is an industry leading, global capability, able to identify emerging risks and financial crime proactively, quickly and effectively, preventing illicit actors from accessing the global financial system. FCTM IT uses cutting edge Big Data technology to build tools that enable a global network of Investigators, Intelligence Analysts and Data Scientists to conduct effective intelligence-based investigations. The team covers 20+ live IT Systems and includes +400 IT professionals.

     

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Being part of the team developing a data science framework,
    • Developing micro services to connect the UI with Hadoop (SOLR),
    • Hands-on role, working closely with other software developers and the product owner,
    • Getting involved in the deployment and operations of the software we build, as we work in a DevOps environment.

     

    Requirements:

    • At least 3 years of commercial experience in Java,
    • 2+ years’ Python experience,
    • Experience in working with Hadoop databases using Hive, Cassandra, and Spark,
    • Knowledge of Javascript (d3, angular2, node.js),
    • Experience in Web UI design & development,
    • Previous experience building REST APIs,
    • Experience with Microservices,
    • Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
    • Experience in BDD/TDD environments,
    • Knowledge Linux/Unix and shell scripting (i.e BASH),
    • Familiarity with Agile methodologies – Scrum, Kanban, MVP.

    Nice to have:

    • Experience using Git,
    • Any previous administration experience with JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, Bitbucket, Nexus OSS/Pro,
    • OAuth2,
    • Machine Learning, Anaconda / Jupyter,
    • SOLR (Hadoop), including schema design,
    • General Hadoop skills, including HDFS, Hive, Spark, Flume, KNOX and Oozie.
