 Application Operations Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Application compliance Verifications and Validation work for the application operations.
  • Drive application retirement program and generate application simplification ideas working with internal & extended simplification teams.
  • Responsible for RCA analysis, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of incidents relating to applications and platforms. Coordination with different internal teams on critical systems & application outages. 
  • Manage the application operations in the supported environment and the structured deployment of upgrades and fixes. Also takes charge of periodical audits of systems for the purpose of preventative maintenance of applications and reporting on their status.
  • Analyze impacts and proactive management of Application operations. 
  • Evaluate and establish alternate/strategic healthy application portfolio processes. 
  • Adhere and drive changes to organization strategy, operational processes & frameworks in-line with overall business goals. 
  • Work with global teams and other supporting functions to manage healthy application portfolio and drive operational excellence. 
  • Development, simplification and control of processes and procedures to ensure effective compliance to organizational policies and goals. 
  • Develop and track comprehensive action trackers, project plans, perform risk mitigation, issue resolution and manage execution while coordinating with GE program, support, architecture, implementation teams.
  • Ensure application and process conformance to all applicable GE standards policies and guidelines.
  • Provide operational reporting/communication, reviews/formulation of corrective actions working directly with operations head.
  • Manages all aspects of one or more small to medium projects concurrently from initiation through closure. 
  • Owns all project risk; including time, budget, and scope, and the associated plans to contain and/or mitigate risk.
  • Identifies critical path decisions, makes recommendations and influences program leaders and business process owners to maximize project payback. 
  • Manages daily activities, issue / problem resolution and communication across project execution teams in order to deliver outcomes on-time, on-budget, as-requested.
  • Demonstrated experience in global environments and ability to excel in a global matrix organization.

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Demonstrated solid performance, leadership and experience in IT operations. 
  • Experience with process quality methodology (ITIL \ Lean Six Sigma).
  • Experience in Application Management and Operational Support environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface and influence at all levels in the organization.

  • Change agent with strong credibility and influence in the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate others and achieve results. 
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; statistically literate and familiar with Six Sigma quality concepts and tools.

  • Executive level presentation skills.
