    Our client is a world class manufacturer of automotive metal pressings and welded assembles for the global automotive market and operates a number of plants in the UK and Europe.

    Due to dynamic growth our client is now seeking a university degree educated Engineering Manager to take the lead for all engineering operations, including robotics, at a state of the art and strategic site located in Poland. The Polish operations are currently undergoing a technological and equipment upgrade and site consolidation and development programme to streamline processes, improve cost effectiveness and efficiency in order to meet rising volumes/throughput to support new and existing automotive customer growth.

    Reporting to the Plant Director in Poznan and also the Group Engineering Director located in the UK, the Engineering Manager will be responsible for maximising the efficiency, effectiveness and economy of all plant, equipment, tooling buildings and services to ensure maximum benefit from production processes with due consideration to quality, health & safety and environmental aspects.

    The Role:

    • Technical lead on the procurement of new plant, equipment and tooling and management of all installation projects
    • Establishing and developing systems and procedures to improve the efficiency, effectiveness, economy and safety of production equipment and tooling
    • Management of tool room, maintenance and engineering functions
    • Budgetary control including monitoring and reporting expenditure patterns
    • Responsibility for adhering to statutory and company policy for the inspection of plant and equipment
    • Developing and maintaining a supply base of competent external sub-contractors (i.e press repairers/toolmakers/robot technicians/electricians etc)
    • Management of internal and external buildings, services and utilities
    • Developing the engineering function and recruiting and managing team members as the organisation expands

    The Ideal Applicant:

    • University degree in Engineering
    • Consistent track record in engineering gained within the automotive manufacturing sector either from an OEM or parts manufacturer.
    • Must be conversant with pressings manufacturing process including progression and manual transfer presses
    • Must have knowledge of Press tool manufacture and be able to fault find tooling issues within the production environment.
    • Must be conversant in welding processes, mig, spot, projection and drawn arc including robotics
    • Must be conversant with TS16949/ISO14001 project planning procedures including APQP process, timing plans and PPAP process
    • Experience of ABB Robotics would be extremely advantageous.
    • Computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office software including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
    • Must have formal Engineering Qualification or a proven track record and minimum 5 years’ experience in the Industry
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Polish and English
    • Must be highly organized, self-motivated and able to work under own initiative
