Finance Controller
The financial control activities are still being carried out locally (Mszczonow) and these will be onboarded in the finance region EMEA in Sittard. To accomplish this, we are currently looking for someone who will take part in this project to make this a big success. When migration process is completed, Financial Control will be based in Sittard.

THE POSITION:

The financial controller has overall responsibility for the coordination, reporting and analysis of the legal entity’s financials. To ensure this, the financial controller is responsible for structured interactions with all relevant stakeholders.

THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS POSITION WILL BE:

Actuals and Closing

  • Delivery and execution of the finance actuals, closing and reporting activities for the assigned reporting unit(s)
  • Performs a sanity check of the P&L and coordinates variances and trend analysis compared
  • Performs Balance Sheet monitoring, including financial variance analysis and understanding of open items
  • Ensures compliance of balance sheet and P&L with DSM Accounting Rules (DAR)

Monitors the financial closing process:

  • Translates business development to DAR accounting
  • Oversees implementations of new processes and procedures
  • Identifies and follows up on improvement opportunities
  • Analysis, Budgeting and Forecasting
  • The financial controller supports the business with the setting up of the budget and forecast cycles
  • Collects budget and forecasting data
  • Initiates data load of budget and forecasting data
  • Completes a variance analysis of non-manufacturing OPEX compared to budget and RAF

Internal Control and Auditing

  • Ensures compliance with DSM internal control requirements
  • Monitors the internal control framework on a monthly basis and follows up on remediation plans
  • Acts as point of contact for all internal and external audits
  • Follows up on financial audit findings

THE IDEAL:

  • (Post) Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Accounting/Financial Controlling, and/or licensed certified public accountant
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in controlling or auditing
  • You have costumer focus, are result driven, improvement driven, able to engage and connect and take ownership
  • A fast learner and independent
  • You are Fluent in English and preferably have knowledge of the Polish language
  • An ambitious and talented team player
