GL Accountant

Summary of the role:

 

The GL Accountant is responsible for delivering substantial parts of the general ledger and reporting activities and will report to the Manager Global Shared Services Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for the refining, developing and/or implementing general ledger process, maintaining service levels with internal partners and protecting ACNs assets.

  • Complete activities associated with fixed assets, maintenance of fixed assets register, amortization and depreciation postings
  • Prepare expenses variance analysis on a monthly basis for departments or business areas assigned
  • Prepayments and accruals calculation, amortization of prepayments, payroll postings and reconciliation
  • Participate in the month end accounting for Revenue and Costs of Goods across all regions in close cooperation with the regional business controllers. This includes billing, revenue recognition, and inventory accounting across multiple regions.
  • Completion of internal controls and quality assurance processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting entries and reasonableness of balance sheet positions
  • Responsible for preparation, entering, filing, and retaining of all associated journal entries.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring reconciling items are cleared in a timely manner
  • Assist with internal and annual external audit inquiries
  • Identify and participate in process improvement and standardisation
  • Preparation of process maps, documentation and monitoring process updates
  • Participate in projects as they arise in areas such as new systems and process improvements

Required Skills & Experience

  • 1-2 years of general ledger experience
  • Excellent business applications skills - Microsoft excel, Access
  • Fluent written and spoken English
  • Highly motivated, deadline driven, and ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively with peers and cross-functionally within the company
  • Confident in presenting and communicating information
  • Attention to details
  • Organizing and executing
  • Presenting and communicating information
