Department Description

The Global Procurement Organization provides the resources, processes, governance, systems and controls for acquiring goods and services efficiently, effectively and ethically from a diverse supply base that provides Motorola Solutions a competitive advantage on cost, quality, technology, service and delivery. The Systems Procurement Organization is responsible for the Procurement of third party equipment, services, and software deployed in the field which is essential to the operation of our customer’s solutions.

The Global Procurement team has moved beyond traditional sourcing and procurement goals by creating value for the business; improving profitability, increasing supplier collaboration, and supporting new solutions development. We are a client focused team designed to bring value and help lead innovations within the business as a trusted adviser to the business teams.

Job Description

In this role, key responsibilities will include: 

  • Develop commercial strategy for assigned categories across products and services such as IT, Engineering, Software, HR and other business categories. 
  • Collaborate with and influence key business stakeholders.
  • Develop a supply base to meet the changing requirements of the category.
  • Lead supplier negotiations on terms and conditions and ensure a framework for a strategic contractual relationship.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on complex purchasing, technical, legal & contractual issues.
  • Define governance around best practices and purchasing policies. 
  • Achieve assigned category targets for cost reductions and payment terms.
  • Ensure business resiliency and mitigate risk.
  • Perform supplier relationship management reviews to ensure supplier performance.
  • Forecast spend, savings, and supplier payments.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Business fields.
  • Proficient in English; Spanish would be an asset.
  • 3+ years of Procurement Category Management or equivalent.
  • Strong Business, Legal, and Technology acumen.
  • Experience in Procure to Pay Process including managing complex strategic sourcing and RFx process.
  • Experience in leading contract negotiations with suppliers.
  • Influence stakeholders and suppliers across diverse functions and regions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and support complex supplier deals potentially including hardware, software, and services integrated solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present views in a clear and compelling manner and engage with senior leaders in addressing complex business issues.
  • A combination of analytic rigor, conceptual ability, creativity, intellectual curiosity and judgment by turning data into insights.
  • Collaborative, high energy individual with focus on supplier and internal customer relationships.
  • Proactive, self-starter who takes initiative.
  • Must be open to support occasional evening work hours in support of North American business partners and suppliers.
  • Procurement Certifications a plus
