Our client is a world class manufacturer of automotive metal pressings and welded assembles for the global automotive market and operates a number of plants in the UK and Europe.
Due to dynamic growth our client is now seeking a university degree educated Quality Manager to take the lead for all quality operations, at a state of the art and strategic site located in Poland. The Polish operations are currently undergoing a technological and equipment upgrade and site consolidation and development programme to streamline processes, improve cost effectiveness and efficiency in order to meet rising volumes/throughput to support new and existing automotive customer growth.
Reporting to the Plant Director in Poznan and also the Group Quality Director located in the UK, the Quality Manager will provide leadership and management for the quality function whilst raising the profile of the Quality department internally and externally. You will be responsible for developing quality procedures, processes and standards to ensure internal, supplier and customer Quality objectives are exceeded. A particular focus will be on personnel development and training of the workforce to ensure they remain focused on continuous improvement and enhanced quality delivery.
You will have excellent knowledge of Automotive Quality Management principles and practices coupled with a demonstrable track record in leading people and developing high performing teams. As an effective communicator, you will have the ability to persuasively present information across all levels of the business whilst being able to effectively negotiate with customers and suppliers.
You will be well versed in TS16949 having worked in a senior quality role for a tier 1 or tier 2 automotive supplier. You will form part of the senior management team being responsible for the development and implementation of quality assurance and control methodologies to improve and maintain the quality of products and processes.
You will work closely with all levels of production, engineering, quality, and purchasing applying problem solving techniques to fully utilise manufacturing opportunities. You will be the Quality Expert with demonstrable experience of quality tools and techniques such as DFMEA, PFME.
Other areas of responsibility will include internal and external audits, reporting of non-compliance including scrap, re-work, first off success rate, as well as responsibility for instrumentation, measurement and calibration.
A relevant degree in engineering or a related discipline is desirable and thorough working knowledge of TS16949 is essential to succeed in this role.
A background and qualification within an engineering discipline preferably in automotive and ideally metal pressings and welded assemblies would be advantageous but candidates with automotive quality experience gained in other automotive manufacturing environments supplying the global automotive car manufacturing brands would also be welcomed. Extensive knowledge of continuous improvement techniques such as 8D, 6 Sigma and 5S.
