    Software Quality Assurance Tester

    The Software Quality Assurance Tester analyzes all requirements, use cases, process flows, and other documentation provided by business and IT operations teams and tests them against the software and/or hardware solutions developed by development resources to ensure all are met prior to their implementation to the production environment. The incumbent will communicate with the test lead on the project, or for those smaller, less complex, and lower visibility projects they are leading with identified project teams, regularly to give progress updates and ensure that all issues and associated risks are identified and mitigated.
    Responsibilities:
    • Analyzes business and functional requirements provided in the form of Requirements Documents, Process Flows, Use Cases or otherwise in order to support senior or lead testers with highly complex initiatives.
    • For the projects the SQA Tester II leads, they must also be able to identify and implement the most appropriate testing approach for a variety of projects, initiatives, and systems.
    • Identifies appropriate Test Cases based on system requirements provided as well as overall testing approach and Test Plan.
    • Thoroughly tests the systems affected by projects to which they are assigned as leads or support, and authors defects for any issues that arise and prevent the system from meeting all identified requirements.
    • Plays an active role in suggesting enhancements to the system(s) being tested which were not identified in the provided requirements but that can increase the efficiency or usability of the system being tested.
    • Actively communicates with team leadership and identified project teams regarding overall status of testing efforts.
    Education
    • BS/BA degree, or equivalent business and technical experience.
    Experience
    • 2 or more years of experience in Software Test Planning and Execution.
    Essential Skills
    • Skilled in various testing techniques including: Functional, Integrations, System, Compatibility, and User Acceptance Testing.
    • Ability to create and execute manual test cases to ensure compliance with specifications and documentation provided.
    • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycles (Waterfall, Agile).
    • Able to translate business requirements into an overall test strategy and test plan.
    • Skilled in identifying test cases from Software Requirements and/or Use Cases.
    • Identifies, analyzes, and documents software program defects, errors or inconsistencies.
